About Us
Coastal Hill Farm is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Middle Two Rock region of Sonoma County, California.

Our hens are never beak-trimmed, given antibiotics, or fed hormones. They are fed an all natural diet; allowing them outside access to forage insects and grass in the open pastures. Our hens not only produce excellent eggs, but they also spend their time scratching and creating compost for our vegetable garden. Coastal Hill Farm sustains a large variety of chicken breeds to support both breed and egg diversity.

We never use pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and we encourage as much natural behavior as possible. In turn, they provide use with excellent food products, natural fertilizers, and natural clean up of green forages.

Coastal Hill Farm believes in producing only the highest quality products. We strive to maintain a healthy, clean, and safe environment for our animals while working in harmony with the native environment. The products grown and produced here create a full circle where each enterprise compliments the other. The animals are fed vegetable, green, and organic food waste which in return provides food for us and fertilizer for our plants. The health of the native flora and fauna is also very important, since the vision of Coastal Hill Farm is to work in harmony in order to mutually benefit the people who live on the farm, the animals, and the surrounding community.

We take pride in our approach to farming:

Certified Organic pasture
No antibiotics, hormones, or stimulants, ever
Sprouted organic barley fodder during drought
Vegetarian supplementary diet
Full access to pasture to eat grass and bugs
A variety of heirloom/heritage breeds with a colorful array of eggs
Modernized traditional egg ranching: mobile coops, truly free range
No forced molting; birds are treated as natural as possible
No dyes or feed additives to make eggs look better than they taste

Our mission: Preserving family farming as a way of life.

The mission of Coastal Hill Farm & Egg Co-op is to provide a fair price to farming families for their eggs and produce so that they can continue doing what they’re best at: farming.

Pastured, organic and conventional chickens are not cheap nor easy to raise well. But due to small flock sizes all of the birds whose eggs we represent are afforded the best animal husbandry and care that can only be expected from family farms.

Our flocks range from 40 to 2,500, and all have completely free access to the outdoors: open pasture, tall grass, at-will organic feed and fresh water, fruit trees, oak trees, vegetable waste, etc. These are not “technically cage-free”, or whatever the big guys say. These birds are borderline wild, and we like it that way.
